The Katya Popova Concert Hall in Pleven is being renovated under "Regions in Growth"

The Katya Popova Concert Hall in Pleven will be mainly renovated with funds from the Operational Programme "Regions in Growth" 2014-2020. The contract for the renovation of the cultural institution was signed by the Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works and Head of the Managing Authority of the programme, Delyana Ivanova.

The funding for the renovation of the concert hall is over BGN 2.6 million. Of these, a little over BGN 2.2 million are grants under the programme, BGN 427 thousand are provided as low-interest loans through financial instruments, and over BGN 6 thousand is the own financing from the Municipality of Pleven.

The project includes a set of activities for development and renovation of cultural infrastructure. It is planned to overhaul the building, introduce energy efficiency measures, improve access by building an elevator and an evacuation ladder, etc. New acoustic equipment will also be delivered.

The hall, named after the renowned Bulgarian soprano singer Katya Popova, is intended for 300 spectators. It hosts concerts of the Pleven Philharmonic, theatre performances, song contests, celebrations and conferences.
