The Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works and the Ministry of Energy and Energy Resources should join efforts to draw up the necessary regulatory provisions for enhancing energy efficiency, said Regional Development and Public Works Deputy Minister Mr. Savin Kovachev on opening an International Conference: Energy Efficiency in Construction at the Princess Hotel. Co-organizers of the forum are the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works /MRDPW/ and the Energy Efficiency Agency of the Ministry of Energy and Energy Resources jointly with the company Via Expo.
The adoption of the Energy Efficiency Act lays the foundations of a purposeful state policy for enhancing energy efficiency in economy, including also construction and is a prerequisite for working out joint regulations by the two ministries, added Savin Kovachev. The Government has a political commitment to solve the problem of the efficient use of energy sources and to align the Bulgarian technical regulatory provision pursuant to the EU requirements. The accent should be put on the necessity for promotion of the measures for enhancing energy efficiency and development of market for energy efficient services which implies close coordination between the different ministries, agencies and non-governmental organizations. An example of a good cooperation is the joint work between the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works and the Ministry of Energy and Energy Resources, announced Mr. Tasko Ermenkov, the Energy Efficiency Agency Executive Director.
At the forum MRDPW experts gave a lecture: Current State and Trends of Regulatory Provision Development with Observance of the Basic Requirement for Constructions, Heat Energy Saving and Heat Insulation of the Building.
