BGN 30 million to support the construction sector were announced during the Annual MA Meeting of OPRG with the

The funds have been requested for indexation of 57 contracts and will support the completion of projects in all priority areas under the Operational Programme “Regions in Growth” 2014-2020, explained Ms Desislava Georgieva, Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works and Head of the Managing Authority of OPRG 2014-2020. The largest number of requests submitted for approval by the MA of OPRG, given the unforeseen inflation of construction material prices, are for projects in the field of cultural, social and tourism infrastructure.

Information on the implementation and progress of the OPRG and the preparation of the Regional Development Programme 2021-2027 was presented during the Annual Meeting with the EC to discuss the implementation and progress of the OPRG and the Regional Development Programme 2021-2027. The annual meeting with the EC is held at the beginning of each year. Its purpose is to review and present the progress of OPRG and Regional Development Programme 2021-2027 and to discuss MA’s joint work with EC in the current year. Deputy Minister, Desislava Georgieva, presented the overall implementation of OPRG 2014-2020 as well as the progress of each priority axis, including the risks in the implementation of projects under them. The Head of the MA of OPRG, also gave detailed information on the progress of the major projects funded by OPRG 2014-2020 as well as the preparation of the Regional Development Programme 2021-2027.

On behalf of the EC, support was expressed for the MA and the continuation of the principle of partnership and cooperation in order to successfully complete the OPRG and launch the effective implementation of the Regional Development Programme 2021-2027.

The Annual Meeting was attended by Ms Lidia Stoykova-Chobanova, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and Science, representatives of the European Commission, the Central Coordination Unit, the Audit of EU Funds, National Funding and Fund Manager of Financial Instruments in Bulgaria.
