INTERREG-IPA CBC Bulgaria – Turkey Programme 2014-2020 - Eligible Programme area
The eligible area of the Programme covers NUTS III regions or equivalents, situated along the border between both partnering countries as follows:
In Bulgaria: District of Burgas (municipalities of Aitos, Burgas, Kameno, Karnobat, Malko Tarnovo, Nesebar, Pomorie, Primorsko, Ruen, Sozopol, Sredets, Sungurlare, Tsarevo), District of Yambol (municipalities of Bolyarovo, Elhovo, Straldzha, Toundzha, Yambol) and District of Haskovo (municipalities of Dimitrovgrad, Harmanli, Haskovo, Ivaylovgrad, Lyubimets, Madzharovo, Mineralni bani, Simeonovgrad, Stambolovo, Svilengrad, Topolovgrad)
In Turkey: Province of Edirne (municipalities of Edirne, Enez, Havsa, İpsala, Keşan, Lalapaşa, Meriç, Süloğlu, Uzunköprü) and Province of Kırklareli (municipalities of Babaeski, Demirköy, Kırklareli, Kofçaz, Lüleburgaz, Pehlivanköy, Pınarhisar, Vize).
The eligible territory covers around 29.000 km² with a common border between both countries of 288 km (including three operating border crossings). The total population of the area is around 1,5 Million inhabitants (784.480 on the Bulgarian side and 742.000 on the Turkish territory).
