INTERREG VІ-А IPA Bulgaria-Serbia 2021-2027 - Eligible Programme Area

The programme region covers 6 districts from the Republic of Bulgaria - Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Sofia region, Pernik and Kyustendil and 7 districts from the Republic of Serbia - Districts of Bor, Zajecar, Nisava, Toplica, Pirot, Jablanica and Pčinja. The border between the two countries is 341 km long with five border checkpoints. 14.13% of the total population of the two countries live in the area of ​​cross-border cooperation. It features several large cities such as Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Pernik and Kyustendil on the Bulgarian side and Pirot, Nis and Dimitrovgrad on the Serbian side. The border region is assessed as having a rich cultural and natural heritage and a high degree of environmental sensitivity to climate change.
