SO(ii) Promotion of energy from renewable sources in accordance with Directive (EU) 2018/2001, including the sustainability criteria set out therein

SO(iv) Promoting climate change adaptation, disaster risk prevention and resilience, taking into account ecosystem approaches

SO(v) Support for ensuring access to water and sustainable water management

SO(vii)            Improving the protection and preservation of nature, biodiversity and environmentally friendly infrastructure, including in urban areas, and reducing all forms of pollution

PO4: A more social and more inclusive Europe — implementing the European Pillar of Social Rights

SO (i) Increasing the efficiency and inclusive nature of labor markets and access to high-quality employment through the development of social infrastructure and the promotion of the social economy

SO (ii) Improving equal access to inclusive and quality services in the field of education, training and lifelong learning through the development of accessible infrastructure, including by promoting the sustainability of distance and electronic education and learning;

SO (vi)            Strengthening the role of culture and sustainable tourism for economic development, social inclusion and social innovation

(d) Improving the institutional capacity of public authorities and stakeholders to implement macro-regional and sea basin strategies as well as other territorial strategies

(f) Other activities to support better management of cooperation

 

In order to fulfill its objectives set in line with the European vision for sustainable development in the conduct of regional policy, the programme will finance projects with a transnational dimension under four priorities as follows:

Priority 1 "A more competitive and innovative Danube region" (PO1)

 Selected Specific Objective 1.(i): Development and strengthening of research and innovation capacity and deployment of advanced technologies contributes to the promotion of research and innovation cooperation, capacity building and exchange of experience between industrial and technological centers and parks, universities, research institutes, etc.

Under Specific Objective 1.(iv): Development of skills for smart specialisation, industrial transition and entrepreneurship, the programme will support the development of knowledge and skills to identify strategic areas for intervention.

Priority 2 "Greener, low-carbon Danube region" (PO2)

Within this priority, the programme will finance projects that contribute to the achievement of the following four specific objectives:

  • Specific objective 2.(ii) Promotion of energy from renewable sources in accordance with Directive (EU) 2018/2001, including the sustainability criteria specified therein;
  • Specific objective 2.(iv) Promote adaptation to climate change, disaster risk prevention and resilience, taking into account ecosystem approaches;
  • Specific objective 2.(v) Support for ensuring access to water and sustainable water management;
  • Specific objective 2.(vii) Improving the protection and preservation of nature, biological diversity and ecological infrastructure, including in urban areas, and reducing all forms of pollution;

Priority 3 "A more social Danube region" (PO4) of the programme is aimed at the socio-economic development of the Danube region, by providing access to a more efficient labor market, to quality education and conditions for lifelong learning, as well as by promoting the cultural heritage and tourism opportunities in the region. The following specific objectives have been selected:

  • Specific objective 4.(i) Increasing the efficiency and inclusive nature of labor markets and access to high-quality employment through the development of social infrastructure and promotion of the social economy;
  • Specific objective 4.(ii) Improve equal access to inclusive and quality services in the field of education, training and lifelong learning through the development of accessible infrastructure, including by promoting the sustainability of distance and electronic education and learning;
  • Specific objective 4.(vi) Strengthening the role of culture and sustainable tourism for economic development, social inclusion and social innovation;

Priority 4 "Better Governance of Cooperation in the Danube Region" is based on Interreg Specific Objective ISO1, with the following activities selected:

(d) "Improving the institutional capacity of public authorities and stakeholders to implement macro-regional and sea basin strategies, as well as other territorial strategies", within which support is provided for the management and implementation of the European Union Strategy for the Danube River Region (EUSDR), as well as

 (f) "Other activities in support of better management of cooperation", within which activities are envisaged to support the increase of institutional capacity for territorial management.
